Essentially natural rock is a discontinuous, heterogeneous and inelasticity material, meanwhile the structural plane existence makes rock more prominent non-linear characteristic, caving and collapsing of rock excavation caused the economic loss and casualties more and more seriously, Therefore, understanding of caving and collapsing rules, taking effective measures to reduce engineering harm, is one of the important work of underground engineering and mining engineering research staff. Mining overlayer strata is a continuous and discontinuous phase coupling of complex medium, and its movement is a very complicated dynamic development process, existing strata movement regularity are proposed just according to single rock strength or joints and fissures. This paper considers the comprehensive effect of buried depth, rock strength and joints, analyses and discusses rock mass risked falling problems base on software simulation real failure process analysis RFPA, with some theoretical value and practical significance.Carry out the following research work:Summarizing various working conditions of strata, deformation, delamination, rupture, caving process, analysis of various rules, conclusion caving and collapsing phenomenon, and identifying various caving and collapsing state of influencing factors. Through simulating various excavation induction process, getting the fitting curve on the destruction height and range, in order to reduce the excavation engineering workload, ensure the safety of engineering, and providing some guidance for inducting caving and collapsing mining and processing goaf. According to the different process of excavation induction caving and collapsing, analysing the evolution rule of the stress distribution of overburden strata and the overburden strata settlement curve. Analyzing and discussing the caving and collapsing precursors, summarizing critical span before caving and collapsing happen and the acoustic emission phenomenon, combining this two judgments together, Making early warning to predict the caving and collapsing phenomenon.
