| In the current field of information, light is playing an increasingly important role as an information carrier. In recent years, people realized that slow down the speed of light would be better optical properties, such as take slow light into optical buffers and optical sensors, their storage capacity and accuracy will be greatly improved. As slow light technology is more and more in-depth knowledge and research, the mechanism of slow light has matured at room temperature. So, how to practical application of slow light optical sensor, optical memory, optical buffers and other fields will be hot issues in the field of optical research in recent years.Line defect is introduced in the two-dimensional photonic crystal; the photonic crystal waveguide can produce slow light by a range of wavelengths. This is the principle of slow light in photonic crystal waveguide. This way of slow light generation has a simple structure; more over can be applied and other advantages. It can must be the main direction of development of slow light.This article is based on slow light photonic crystal waveguide research. The main contents are as follows:(1) This paper describes the development of slow light firstly, and introduces the combination structures of slow light and interferometer nationally and internationally.(2) In the second part, the paper introduces the photonic crystals main algorithm, and then takes the Rsoft software for the simulation of photonic crystal structure. Arrangement of the photonic crystal waveguide, fill rate, refractive index of dielectric rods, the background refractive index media column radius and reducing the size of the column radius defect photonic crystal waveguide obtained the dispersion curve of the simulation, and import it into Matlab for simulation, different parameters for the group velocity.(3) This paper designs a structure of refractive index measuring device based on photonic crystal waveguide slow light interferometer, the resolution obtained by software simulation can be achieved1.4x10-5RIU, the theoretical values have reached a relatively high level. (4) This paper proposed a photonic crystal slow light interferometer wavelength detection system based on0.1mm photonic crystal waveguide, the interferometer sensitivity of the strain sensitivity is0.006rad/με. Compare with an ordinary optical fiber interferometer with the equal arm length. The structure has high sensitivity, small size and so on.(5) Finally, I take the fiber M-Z interferometer experiment; fiber M-Z interferometer detection sensitivity of FBG reflected wavelength value of approximately8μW/nm. Standard deviation is0.008μW; repeatability error is±1%.This paper mainly contents of photonic crystal waveguide for slow light interferometer theory and applies it to refractive index measurement and wavelength detection. This structure is small, highly sensitive, with some prospects and development. |
