With the development of rail transportation and the improvement of bridgeconstruction technology,more and more super-spanned railway bridges are built.To keepthe accordance of alignment of built bridges with the expectation and to insure thesafety of bridges in construction,the construction control is paid more and moreattention.The super-spanned railway bridge near Nanfei River is an under-supportingsteel bridge composed of the continuous truss and flexible arch with main span229.5meters and each of two side spans114.75meters long. The construction method of thebridge is to use unilateral incremental launching with closing up on the arch foot whichis novelly used. The paper put the super-spanned railway bridge near Nanfei River asresearch background, the mechanical models in all construction stages were establishedand the finite element method was used to analyze the stress and displacement fields ofthe bridge in construction process. Then the stability of the key members was evaluatedin the construction process. Thus the safety prediction and monitoring of theconstruction process were implemented. According to the computed results, thereinforcement project for the members over allowable stress in the construction processhad been proposed, which made the bridge structure meet the stress strength andstability requirements within safety construction. Furthermore, the stresses of the keyfocused members in all construction stages were measured and monitored. It was foundthat the computed results of the stresses of the focused members are in agreement withthe measured ones in the construction process and the profile data of bridge completionconform with requirements of the design and specification. The practice of theconstruction process of the bridge has demonstrated that the mechanical analysis andmonitored implementation in the present work were successful, which can be referredfor other similar bridge constructions.
