Belt Conveyor is the most famous equipment for any transportation related to the material for long distance and/or any other bulk material for the industrial purpose. It is widely used in various industries such as Coal mining, Chemical Industry, food industry, Line stone transportation. If Automation with proper suitability is attached to these conveyor, it can make the operation and monitoring of the conveyors very easy. It requires a systematic approach and lots of design and research work for optimization and better performance of the system. In long term use the system becomes very economical and helps in the growth of the industry and country.This thesis introduces the development process of large belt conveyor, analyzes the current research status in land and abroad. The study on dynamic characteristics of large belt conveyor system is the key point to develop a belt conveyor design in our country and market competition ability in the international. The background of this article is the Indian project the world first S cured section large belt conveyor designed and erected by North Heavy Industries. For a large belt conveyor, nonuniform power distribution, tension mutation and unstable speed control will influence the operation stability of equipment. The accuracy of the power distribution will reduce the tension of the conveyor belt to improve the safety factor of the conveyor belt. In order to prevent the conveyor belt from tension mutation and prolong the service life of the conveyor belt, the control system automatically adjust the conveyer belt tension control of belt conveyor from the start, run, and stop these three aspects to achieve the smooth control of the conveyor. At the same time this article presents a starting curve for long high-power belt conveyor which more appropriated for this topic.It comes to a conclusion based on the above data that we can achieve the establishment a PLC control program by designing the frequency conversion timing intelligent control system and flow program for initial startup, power balance and timing of the conveyor. It gives better accuracy than the other control program used in the conventional conveyor systems. It have to be implemented from the basic designing of the long and large capacity conveyors for achieving the better performance.According to the describing above, this paper had already designed the VFD system of the belt conveyor,and edit the program of soft-startup,VFD,power balance adjustment for the PLC,after the commissioning had done,the electrical control system which this paper designed satisfied the demand of the project.
