Due to its own independence, the diesel generator set is becoming more and more popular in today’s engineering application. But at the same time, followed by vibration problems, it brings a lot of troubles, such as inefficient operation, poor reliability, reduce of external comfort. So it is necessary for the large range application of the diesel generator set to design a better isolation system.With the rapid development of computer technology, finite element technology is applied more and more widely in the fields of mechanical vibration, and with its low cost, high efficiency, it gradually takes the place of some complex, high cost experiments to providing the forecast for the design in the initial stage.The paper designs an isolation system for a12V type locomotive diesel generator set, and by using the ANSYS Workbench finite element analysis computing platform, explores some scheme to improve vibration isolation performance. The main process is as follows:(1) According to the mechanics and kinematics theory of the diesel engine, the paper analyzes the balance characteristics and the overall vibration force in the rated load systematically.(2) According to the principle and selection standards of vibration isolation, the paper designs a rubber vibration isolator meeting the requirements.(3) By establishing a finite element modal analysis and harmonic response analysis for the diesel generator set vibration isolation system, test the rationality of the vibration isolation system.(4) According to the "Specification of railway vehicle strength design and test", do an evaluation of the static strength, the vertical stiffness, torsional stiffness and other aspects for the common base of diesel generating vibration isolation system.(5) From a practical point of view, discuss the generator bearing stiffness, elastic modulus of the vibration isolator, damping of vibration isolator, structure change of the public base influence on the vibration isolation system performance.Through the above work, analysis the design of diesel generating set vibration isolation system by using computer finite element technology, which results has certain reference significance to the development of vibration isolation system unit.
