It’s important to choose an appropriate type of energy dissipation in release structures, Flood discharge and energy dissipation is always an important factor for water-control project. Underflow energy dissipation is a common way of energy dissipation. It uses the form of hydraulic jump to eliminate the excess kinetic energy of the water, through the construction of stilling basin or stilling basin so that water jump occurred in them.
