Equipment is an important part to guarantee the quality reliability of mechanical product assembly system and the stability of the running state has a significant effect on product quality. Aiming at improving the reliability and maintenance level of equipment, this paper takes the equipment group of complex mechanical product assembly system as the research object. A health management system based on equipment health index is proposed to realize the scientific management of equipment.Firstly, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the assembly process of complex mechanical product and introduces the definition and the related technical theory, method and application of complex mechanical products.Secondly, it is hardly to diagnose the health situation of equipment comprehensively only by a single feature parameter. So, the comprehensive equipment health index which integrates multiple parameters is introduced to quantify the running status of equipment.Thirdly, several equipment included in the assembly system is regarded as research object and the comprehensive running state of the system is diagnosed. On this basis, a nonlinear fitting model is constructed to describe the equipment health index changing with time and to solve the model to predict the health state of equipment.Subsequently, based on expounding the occurrence regularity of mechanical equipment fault and according to the prediction of equipment degradation point, the time node on which to conduct equipment maintenance could be determined. And the feasibility of the method is proved with a comprehensive equipment health management example.Finally, the equipment of engine assembly line in a car limited company is taken as the research object and a health management system is developed. The method proposed in this paper has been applied in actual production to prove its feasibility and validity.
