With the popularization of Smart Grid, more and more people pay theirattention to the problems about improving the power quality.Among all theproblems, reactive power compensation is the most common and most pressingproblem. It is necessary to compensate the reactive power quickly, well and truly.STATCOM is one of the latest static var compensator and it can compensate reactivepower rapidly and accurately. DSTATCOM is applied most close to common life andwork.By reading a large number of literatures on reactive compensation, researchstatus of reactive power compensation and DSTATCOM were mastered. On thisbasis, the overall design scheme of the positive and negative sequence separationcontrol DSTATCOM was designed. The method of detect and control andparameters of the system were finally designed. In order to demonstrate the validityand feasibility of the system, in MATLAB/SIMULINK emulated platform, simulation model of positive and negative sequence separation control DSTATCOMsystem was built. Finally, the result of the compensation was analyzed. On the basisof theoretical research and simulation experiment, hardware experiment of thesystem was designed. Hardware circuit and software were designed. The hardwarecircuit of positive and negative sequence separation control DSTATCOM system wasbuilt to do experimental studies. Experimental results show that positive and negativesequence separation control DSTATCOM system can not only compensate reactivepower, but also adjust the balance of three phase power grid, which proved thevalidity and feasibility of the design in this dissertation.
