With the rapid industrial development, which brings the energy crisis and thedeterioration of the environment for human survival. And the wind power as the mostdirect way to clean and renewable energy has gained rapid development and becomeone of the most promising power generation. Converter technology is one of the coretechnology of wind power generation system, undertaking the responsibility of thedifferent forms of energy conversion and transmission of high-quality, efficientenergy to power. In this context, this paper take the double PWM converter of windpower generation as the research subject, conducting in-depth analysis and researchon the key technology such as working mechanism, power topology and controlstrategy of the system, the achievement of this paper establishes the foundation forthe development of large capacity wind power converter in the future.Firstly, this paper takes PWM rectifier of bidirectional converter as the researchsubject, conducting dissection on mathematical model, power topology and mechani-sm of double closed-loop control. Also taking PWM inverter as the research subject,conducting in-depth analysis of efficient grid current control technology. In themeantime, conducted in-depth research on the low voltage ride through in which isone of the key technology, which determine adopting combination control ofunloading and reactive power compensation to reduce the voltage drop.Secondly, establish the converter system simulation model based on dual PWMcontroller by using Matlab/Simulink simulation software, and verify the correctnessand feasibility of the mathematical model on dual PWM converter, thepower topology and double closed loop control mechanism proposed in this paper. Inaddition, the proposed LVRT technology was validated.Again, the design of dual PWM converter system, which adopts double PIC asthe core to design the motor side and net side converter, comprising a controlunit, driving unit and a protection unit etc..At the same time, the system software is designed, including the main program, timer interrupt service routine, the protectionprogram etc..Finally, set up a test prototype of dual PWM converter system. Theresults proved the correctness of the proposed scheme on basis of a large number ofexperiments.
