As the advantages of high integration, good adaptability, high economy and lowemission, the hydraulic in-wheel motor drive system(HIMDS) has become one of theadvanced technologies for the commercial vehicles, especially the medium and heavy truck.And the braking energy regeneration as one of the ways to achieve energy saving for theHIMDS, the research on parametric matching of the key components and the braking energyrecovery control algorithm for the system earns great practical engineering significance.Based on the Natural Science Foundation of China (NO.51305155), this paper takes thedomestic heavy truck as the research object, aiming at studying on its braking energyregeneration system through off-line simulation.In this paper, the research on the hydraulic in-wheel motor drive regenerative brakingsystem(HIMDRBS) involves in parametric matching of the key components, developingregenerative braking control algorithm, establishing the co-simulation platform, thesimulation and analysis of the control algorithm, designing the scheme of the test bench. Themain research contents of the paper are as follows:(1) Parametric matching of the key components for the HIMDRBSConduct parametric analysis for the hydraulic pump/motor and accumulator, thendetermines the parameters of the hydraulic accumulator;(2) Establish co-simulation platformEstablish the vehicle dynamic model in the Matlab/Simulink environment, and thenestablish the hydraulic braking energy recovery system model based on AMESim platform tobuild the co-simulation platform.(3) Regenerative braking control algorithmBased on the analysis of three typical regenerative braking control strategy, this paperproposes the parallel regenerative braking control strategy, which takes the brakingregulations into consideration. Analyze the braking force limits of the braking regulations.Then develop the braking force distribution algorithm. And the expression of regenerative braking force and traditional friction braking force acted on each axle under differentbraking mode is deduced. Develop the parallel regenerative braking control algorithm basedon PID controller.(4) Study on the off-line simulation of the regenerative braking control algorithmEstablish the control algorithm model in the Matlab/Simulink environment anddetermine the off-line simulation conditions, then conduct off-line simulation to verify thefeasibility of the control algorithm.(5) Scheme of the test bench for the HIMDRBSBased on the working principle and structure of the system, the function requests havebeen put forward, then the overall scheme and the components of the test bench have beendetermined. Conduct preliminary discussion and analysis of the experiment method tosimulate braking energy recovery, which laid the foundation of building the test bench andconducting the hardware-in-loop tests.
