The magnetostriction of electrical steel sheet is one of the main reasons that result in the iron core vibration and noise. In order to know principle or essential of vibration or noise of steel sheet due to its magnetostriction, theoretical basis will be provided for the vibration and noise reduction of steel sheet due to its Magnetostriction. In this paper, a mathematical model of forces of magnetostriction was presented according to the theory of electromagnetic field, the theory of virtual work principles and the concept of strain energy, then a mathematical model of lateral vibration of steel sheet was presented join elastic thin slab theory, and then, finite element method was used in the numerical simulation program with the mathematical model. The mathematical model that can meet the engineering application requirements was validated by comparative experimental data and solving results of the model. In-plane magnetostriction of steel sheet was analyzed in the magnetic field. A finite element model of multi-chip was presented on the basis of model of bending vibration of one steel sheet. The finite element model was validated by experimental data. At last, some methods of noise reduction with rectifier transformer was presented on the basis of model of bending vibration of steel sheet, and the methods was validated by experimental data, and the methods can reduce noise of core of rectifier transformer.
