Teory Of Landscape Architecture— Based Tourist Attrcaction Architectural Design Study

With the rapid development of tourists attractions, the demand of establishing ancillary facility like tourist reception in scenic spots is significantly growing. However,architectural design in tourists attractions always encounters some common challenges, such as how to coordinate buildings in scenic spots with natural environment and make them an important part in the original landscape in order to make tourism development and environmental protection complement each other.With regard to the above challenges, from my perspective,as a new type of architecture, landscape architecture can be considered as one of the solutions to the challenges due to its unique features. For example, landscape architecture can be coordinated with the environment and creatively reshape the surface. On top of that, its architectural form can recreate the base environment landscape. This thesis analyzes the special adaptation of landscape architecture to tourist attractions and makes a new try of applying landscape concept into designing resort hotels through researching and practicing the landscape design strategy in Yulong Bay Resort Hotel in Kunming.This thesis consists of six chapters. Chapter one makes a discussion about the background of the research topic, definition of research subjects, objectives and significance of this research, current situation of the research and the research methods.Chapter two analyzes the origin of landscape architecture, the production and development of architectural theory and boundedness of landscape architecture in a particular environment from different perspectives and periods. Chapter three makes a research on the adaption of architectural landscape design to the tourist attractions. It is based on the theory of part two and makes a systematic analysis of landscape architecture from aspects like design considerations, its spatial form, unity and contrariety between architecture and environment. Chapter four is involved with the research design of practical project. It concludes the theory and design method from the above analysis in the previous chapters. The overall concept of architectural landscape introduced in the design of Yulong Bay Resort Hotel is applied into the practical project i am concerned with so that this research result can be used to guide practices and provide a verification platform for theories researches. Chapter five is concerned with exploring design methods of landscape design in practical projects and make a deep analysis of practical projects through taking into consideration the permeation of environment and function, integration of size and shape, reconstruction of space and venue and unity of materials and construction. Chapter six summarizes the experience in designing the practical projects and the strategy of landscape design in tourist attractions, speculates the development tendency in future landscape architecture in tourists attractions, and makes some suggestions for the technology of design.
