Energy is an important resource for Human the and development, with the rapid development of society, the demand for energy is growing. In China’s mining industry, a large number of asynchronous motors are operating in the non-economic running conditions which result in waste of energy. In order to save electricity, It is necessary to detailed calculate and study the power loss, including harmonic loss and impacts of the induction motor, then corresponding energy-saving measures are proposed to save energy and decrease wastage in this thesis.The main work is as follows:1. In order to calculate power loss quantitatively, taking into account of the drawbacks of the motor traditional no-load and stall tests, so the motor parameters must be accurately calculated. In this thesis the motor parameters obtained through computer programming solutions of high-order equation based on equation of power loss derived by means of the classification of energy consumption of asynchronous motor under the cantilever equivalent circuit.2. Test development platform for power loss of 5.5kw three phase asynchronous motor is installed and a series of experimental schemes are designed in different mechanical load which is obtained by doubly-fed generator with inverter controls, then the energy efficiency of asynchronous motor is tested in different running conditions and the proposed schemes of energy-saving is verified.3. For the calculation and analysis of power loss, this thesis focuses on the detailed studying the loss of the motor in different running conditions, we obtain the optimal voltage and frequency values of minimum energy consumption by solving and analyzing the theoretical calculation formula of total loss and input power.4. Finally, this thesis calculate the harmonic loss of the induction motor at different harmonic content, and the general change rules of harmonic loss and impacts of motor are studied.
