In recent years, as the fastest-growing renewable and clean energy, wind energy has shown its bright future. Since wind energy is mainly used to generate electricity, it is significant to realize the soft grid connection, to achieve the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) and to enhance the quality of the electricity of wind power conversion system. This paper researches on doubly-fed wind power generation system which is the most widely used in our country, mainly including the following sections:First of all, the mathematic model of doubly-fed wind power system is established based on the vector control theory. A preliminary study on the control strategy for grid side converter is implemented. Then, researching on the grid connection control, this paper puts forward the fuzzy immune PID algorithm which combines the advantages of PID control, fuzzy control and immune control. Its effectiveness is verified by using Matlab/Simulink. It is meaningful to apply advanced control theory to wind power system for achieving soft connection. At last, depending on the analysis of the mathematic model of the wind turbine, control methods on MPPT of the wind power system operating below the rated wind speed has been studied deeply. In view of the shortcomings of traditional MPPT control, such as strong dependency of model parameters, bad performance on anti-interference and so on, variable universe fuzzy control algorithm is presented to the MPPT control system for doubly-fed wind system in this chapter. Its good ability of robustness is verified through the Matlab/Simulink.
