The economy and safety of the boiler operation is affected, when blowing unreasonably. In this paper, the slagging and fouling on-line monitoring system for the water cooled tube and convection heating surface in coal-fired utility boiler is developed, which is based on the support vector machine (SVM). It can help the boiler operation workers to optimize blowing. It also can reduce the waste of the working substance and energy caused by the unreasonable blowing. It also can alleviate the damage of the heating surface caused by unreasonable blowing. To sum up, it can improve the economy and safety of the boiler operation.First, the support vector machine algorithm and genetic algorithm(GA) are expounded in this paper, which are the theory foreshadowing of the slagging on-line monitoring model of the water cooled tube based on the support vector machine and the fouling on-line monitoring model of the convection heating surface based on the support vector machine.Then, the temperature characteristic of the boiler water cooled tube is studied in this paper. The temperature field of the water cooled tube is studied numerically after the analytical study of temperature field of the water cooled tube in an actual boiler water wall. The conclusion is that the unexposed side temperature difference and heat flux on the water cooled tube are positive correlation. A feature parameters-temperature pressure fouling coefficient is proposed, based on this conclusion in this paper, which can reflect the pollution degree of the water cooled tube. So the slagging on-line monitoring model of the water wall is established based on the temperature pressure fouling coefficient. In addition, the feasibility of predicting the back side temperature difference of the water cooled tube is verified based on an actual boiler in this paper.When studying the fouling on-line monitoring model of the convection heating surface, a feature parameters-heat pressure fouling coefficient is proposed from a new angle based on the analysis of the disadvantages of the traditional "heat balance method" for monitoring the fouling of the convection heating surface. So the fouling on-line monitoring model of the convection heating surface is established based on the heat pressure fouling coefficient. In addition, the feasibility of predicting the quantity of heat absorption of the convection heating surface is verified based on an actual boiler in this paper.At last, the slagging and fouling on-line monitoring system for the water cooled tube and convection heating surface in coal-fired utility boiler is developed after programming with the combination of SQL database and Matlab in Delphi platform.
