Study On The Cultural Landscape In The Northern Urban Waterfront Space

River is the origin of life, the lifeline of culture. City rise and development of material basis can’t do without water. Waterfront space as the most natural organisms in urban texture,both natural and cultural landscape features. It carries the human cultures as a location and forms a unique landscape culture subtly in the process of evolution of the city. In modern northern cities, creating a cultural waterfront space, in return will not just for the deep memory of the water, but the deep love of the land’s affection generations lived in.Urban cultural landscape react the regional culture of the city. The urban cultural landscape is constructed by tangible material and intangible non-material factors. Whether the tangible or intangible urban cultural landscape is city’s personality as a business card to transfer the spirit, to send out a charming cultural temperament.The urban waterfront builds a landscape context, participates in environmental recovery and regional cultural heritage. Composition and ecological system of waterfront provides very important resource for human lives, making people go from the early water habitat to the birthplace of ancient civilizations, till now, the modern urban world. In this kind of rich resource, it contains complex ecology, art and social culture, has a great value to improve the quality of urban environment, enrich the regional culture, and reveal the spirit of modern city.This article is based on the urban waterfront environment in the North China, through excavation, the local historical and cultural heritage regional cultural history, to carry forward the national spirit and regain our sense of national identity and cultural identity. A preliminary summary of the research on urban waterfront landscape theory and design methods of application. To face of China’s urbanization and sustainable development of the North,combined with the cultural landscape of urban Waterfront developments at home and abroad,exploring the spiritual inspiration and influence on human culture, studied for the North China regional cultural landscape design of urban waterfront space.
