The Design Of Smart Home Control System Based On ZigBee And Android Platform

Firstly, this article introduces the history of smart home system and the current domestic research as well as abroad. It comes up with a smart home controlling system which based on the Android software development technology and ZigBee short distance wireless communication technology, and it explains the researching meanings, background and work content of this project.Secondly, the article elaborates the definition of ZigBee technology, structure of ZigBee protocol stack, method of ZigBee data transmission, network topology and establishing. Combined with new ZigBee chip which produced by TI as the ZigBee network hardware platform, the overall structure of this smart home controlling system is proposed. Thirdly, the application controlling terminal uses Android SDK and JNI for software development. Since Android system has many develop components, comprehensive system interfaces and it is an open source system, application witch developed on the Android platform is better in UI mutual experience, system fluency than that developed on the other platforms. Finally, the article introduces the design of function modules including light controlling, motor controlling, infrared controlling and sensor detecting. Except those function modules, the system adds a security module in order to play security role.After the testing of functions, the results indicate that the communication between the Android controlling terminal device and furnishing or security module is based on the ZigBee wireless network, users can turn on or off the lights, open or close the curtain, adjust the air-condition. When the temperature or the noxious gas exceed their limiting value, the system would warn the user. In security mode, when pyroelectric infrared sensor detects the body infrared signals, the security module would launch the camera to catch the picture and do the JPEG compression,the compressed picture is transfered by ZigBee network and displayed on the client device. The using of low-power ZigBee chip and the ZigBee protocal stack optimizes the power consumption in software, those make the smart home controlling system environmental protection.
