Chinese power supply system is a single power supply, the voltage level is relatively high, but in today’s society is increasingly high demand for electricity reliability, a single centralized power supply can not meet today’s demand for electricity supply. Especially in economically developed areas, even during the peak period to a great extent the electricity shortfall phenomenon leading to blackouts. In addition, the world climate change and worldwide energy crisis, electricity crisis, have an urgent requirement to find new modes of generation. Wind energy is an environmentally friendly, new energy efficient countries in the world are increasingly widely used wind energy to generate electricity. In many of our traditional resources are not rich or even the lack of development of new energy, wind energy to provide electricity to nearby users with the grid to form the complementary energy, which is the traditional power industry opportunities at the same time it also brings more challenges.Traditional distribution networks relay configuration and tuning are based on single-supply-and-spoke network structure designed for wind farm access must change the structure of the original distribution networks, but also affect the size of the short circuit current and direction, so have an impact on the original relay, resulting in malfunction, refused to move even the sensitivity decreases. For such problems, this article in-depth study wind farm on the protection of distribution network and improve the program.In this paper, read a lot of literature with wind farm protection and research status on the basis of the systematic analysis of changes in short-circuit current in the Wind Farm, Matlab/Simulink simulation changes short-circuit current, short-circuit current analysis compared to traditional distribution network. On this basis, the measures taken by the distribution network with wind farms, and concluded that the most economical and practical adaptive current protection, and this method is analyzed in theory.
