The structure of production equipment are more and more complex, the relevance between parameters also more close with the increase of unit capacity and parameters. Steam temperature of boiler of large unit is one of the important index of boiler operation quality, which includes the superheated steam temperature(first steam temperature) and reheat steam temperature(secondary steam temperature). With the rapid development of the computer and modern control theory, many advanced control strategies have conditions to be applied to the steam temperature control system.In this paper, the predictive PID control and model driven PID control algorithm are studied in the steam temperature control system application. First, elaborated the basic concepts of reheat steam temperature control system, selected the object model of the subject; Secondly, the predictive PID(PPID) control and model driven PID(MD-PID) control algorithm are studied in this paper, aiming at the shortage in the large inertia, large time delay system and its improvement, proposed two improved control algorithm(A-PPID and A-MD-PID), and on the matlab programming; Again, analyse the effect of each parameter in the A-MD-PID control algorithm on the control system, validate its robustness, program "model driven PID control algorithm" software package by GUI, and according to the PID control algorithm, calculated the controller parameter, transmiss the parameters to the S-Function custom module of simulink for simulation; Last, the A-MD-PID control algorithm is adopted to realize the multi model control by fuzzy weighted method, to make it suitable for variable working conditions. Simulation results show that the model driven PID-multi model controller superior to the model driven PID-single model controller, multi model control strategy is a simple and feasible approach to solve nonlinear control problems. It has a great significance.
