Higher requirement has been put forward of the on-line monitoring of transformer along with the accelerating of the smart grid construction. It is possible to analyze the working condition of the transformer through monitoring the vibration signal, because vibration signal on surface contains abundant information about the transformer.Core work of the transformer online monitoring method based on vibration is to analyze collected vibration signal and extract characteristics of vibration signal for characterization of transformer running state.A set of vibration signal acquisition device used for power transformer in the operation of the surface vibration data collection is designed and realized in this paper. Based on the different frequency characteristics of vibration signal in different measuring point on the surface of transformer, the influence of acceleration sensor’s installation position is analyzed and compared for the vibration signal and suggestions are put forward about the installation of sensor for on-line monitoring of transformer through the surface vibration signal.According to the result about spectrum analysis and a detailed comparison of vibration signal in different locations on the surface of a more than one transformer, suggestions fot the method of vibration monitoring of running status of transformer is put forward. And then,three-dimensional surface vibration signal of the running power transformer is analyzed respectively using the energy spectrum analysis method based on wavelet transform and the power spectrum analysis method based on Fourier transform. Finally, analyzed the surface vibration signals and the relationship between the load current transformer, and presents. Finally the relationship between the load current and the surface vibration signals is studied with the transformer operation data and a corresponding conclusion is proposed.
