In order to meet the needs of Chinese economic development, high-grade highways have extended to the complex topography areas with high seismic intensity. Highway, as a lifeline project, plays an important role in the earthquake relief work. And as the control project of the highway bridge, whether bridges can resist the seismic damage is the key of highway to play the role of lifeline engineering. Simply supported bridge has the characteristics of simple structure, convenient construction, low cost and beautiful appearance, which is widely used in high-grade highway in our country. Due to the enormous quantity, the position of the simply supported bridge in the lifeline engineering is more prominent, so that more and more people pay attention to its seismic performance. Simply supported bridges failure is more common after strong earthquake, and longitudinal displacement and transverse displacement of the beam body is the most common, which may lead to unseating. It induces not only direct losses, but also seriously affects the earthquake emergency rescue. Especially when the unseating damage occurs, the bridges is difficult to repair in the short term, which will greatly delay the rescue work, and seriously hindered the rescue of life and the control of secondary disaster. Therefore, studying how to limit longitudinal displacement and transverse displacement of the beam body during earthquake and unseating prevention has important practical significance.In a destructive earthquake, we can set the seismic block on the upper structure of bridges to limit transverse displacement, and the oil damper can limit the longitudinal displacement. This thesis is about the performance research of two different types of seismic unseating prevention oil damper.The main content of the paper are as follows:1. Collect study survey of energy dissipation technology used in bridge at home and abroad. Then we found that application of this technology in simple supported bridge is relatively less and this technology has large development potential;2. Develop two different types of seismic unseating prevention oil damper with its own innovation respectively, and analyses their structures and working principle;3. Study the performance of two different types of seismic unseating prevention oil damper performance study by the means of experiments;4. Combined with the practical engineering case, analyses the influence on the seismic performance of the simply supported bridge with added damping which is provided by the seismic unseating prevention oil damper.
