The bulb tubular pump is used in the Eastern Route of South to North Water Diversion Project, because of the characteristics of smooth flow patterns in the inlet and outlet conduits, srtong discharge capacity, small hydraulic loss, high pumping devices efficiency and low cost both for construction and running. For large discharge and low lift head pumping stations, it is especially suitable to use tubular pumps for their economic characteristics. Combine with the specific engineering, according to the tubular pump flow components within the device what need to optimize in the engineering, through the numerical simulation and compare with the model test, analysis the internal flow characteristics of the tubular pump system. The research results provide reference to the new building and renovation tubular pumping station.With the background of the renovation pumping station of Eastern Route of South to North Water Diversion Project, model pump for 3D modeling with the software of Unigraphics (UG) and TurboGrid, division the hexahedral grid with the software of ICEM-CFD and TurboGrid, base on the Navier-stokes equation and the standard κ-ε model, study the internal flow characteristics by numerical simulation research with the commercial software ANSYS 14.0. Analysis the whole pump internal flow characteristics under the different operating conditions. Obtain the external characteristic curve through the calculation. Analysis the proportion of hydraulic loss of the different flow components in bulb tubular pumping system, optimize the structure of guide vane and bulb which have the biggest hydraulic loss proportion. The model pump internal flow is improved obviously after the optimization, efficiency is greatly improved, compare with the results of numerical simulation and model test. The results of numerical simulation are consistent with pump model test results, which shows the numerical simulation is feasible to study the internal flow of the pump device.For the adjustable tubular pump blades, the blade angle is an important parameter. Its role is the prime mover to pass mechanical energy to the fluid directly. In this paper, combine with the specific engineering needs, analysis the performance under the condition of the impeller of different blade angle in bulb tubular pump through numerical simulation, obtain the external characteristic performance curve by calculation. Compare with the results of numerical simulation and model test, in view of the three typical flow under the condition of different blade angle analysis of the internal flow, obtain the distribution regularity of velocity and pressure in blade surface, show the static pressure figure laid to distribution with different blade angle of blade through the same flow conditions, understanding the static pressure distribution along the blade exhibition with different conditions of blade angle, it will have a very good engineering application value with adjustable blade impeller pump station project.
