The use of high-strength steel bar can save resources and achieve sustainable economic development. Currently, high-strength steel bar are widely applied to engineering projects in many countries. In order to make the steel bar used in reinforced concrete in line with the world, domestic scholars have studied on the HRB500 high-strength steel bar. The paper studies on the ultimate bearing capacity of high-strength reinforced concrete columns under combined torsion, the main contents are as follows:(1) Designs the high-strength reinforced concrete column experimental members, including shape and reinforcement design; obtains material property datum by test; determines the measure contents, instrument displacement and load plan of the experiment, provides the basis for performance analysis of high-strength reinforced concrete columns under combined torsion and design theory of calculation..(2) Obtains the corresponding phenomenon of various stages by observing the failure characteristics of the specimen. Studies on the tendency of how concrete strain, longitudinal bar strain, stirrup strain and seismic performance of the specimen changes when torsion changes.(3) Obtains the impact of the longitudinal bar amount, stirrup span etc. on the ultimate bearing capacity of torsion by finite element method. Proposes a revision formula of high-strength reinforced concrete combined torsion bearing capacity by comparing the experimental datum and the code formula.
