This thesis developed a portable minimally invasive knife based on AVR microcontroller. It is a new surgical instrument equipped with new heat welding technology which can be used in bleeding vessel sealing and cutting tissue and blood vessels. Compared with the electric knife, radio frequency knife and ultrasonic scalpel, this device works different, it converts electrical energy into heat energy, the use of more advanced pulse width modulation PWM control mode to complete the change of the average electric current in the tip portion of the electric wire and change the heat of the tip. There is no current through the body, avoiding thermal conductivity of tissue and blood vessel damage in the process of hemostasis and cutting. This surgical instrument hascharacteristics of extensive surgery, obvious hemostatic effect, high quality surgery, rapidpost-operative recovery and less pain.First of all, this thesis summarized the current research and developmentof application and status of portable medical devices, minimally invasive surgical instruments. Secondly, described the principle of the portable coagulation knife cutting system and the main components. Then, focused on the design of hardware and software platforms on minimally invasive knife control system. The hardware design section covered the PWM control switch circuit module, data acquisition module, power module, LCD display module and key control module. Software design using C language development, including the main program design, PWM control unit programming, AD sampling unit programming, LCD display unit and key programming unit programming. Also for the EMC design and reduce power consumption design were elaborated.Finally, the development of sub-module system experiments were carried out to test, and used the minimally invasive knife make the cutting intestinal simulation experiments with diseased tissue. The result shows that:the subject developed a portable coagulation cutting knifewhich works wellwhile cutting tissue and closed blood vessels, with the characteristics of no electric conduction, little injury (burns average width of less than lmm), compact design, strong portability and less smoke during surgery which makes clear vision.
