In recent years, traffic safety and efficiency problems become the major test facing the world, the world due to low efficiency of traffic and traffic accidents caused an estimated casualties and economic losses. Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) as a branch of Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET), it’s by message switching to know around the motion of the vehicle state and live traffic, So as to improve the driving safety of vehicles and ease traffic congestion and improve traffic efficiency.Single hop broadcast is the main method of information transmission in VANET, and because the VANET channel characteristics such as limited resources, network scale, as the vehicle nodes more and more intensive, will cause the network load is too large. So, if no coverage control broadcast information, will cause "broadcast storm", make the network performance greatly reduce or even network paralysis. For safety of VANET applications as the starting point, this paper puts forward a way of VANET network for power control.First of all, as a result of the movement of vehicles node directly influenced the VANET topology changes, therefore, in order to verify the validity of the algorithm is proposed in this paper and the superiority, proposed a more realistic model of the vehicle-mounted mobile. This model is based on the SUMO simulation platform of the forehead, about the car following models and lane changing model, which is through the simulation analysis, proved the effectiveness of the new model.Secondly, this paper puts forward a new kind of VANET power control algorithm, the algorithm by identifying each vehicle directly neighbor nodes, and then according to the neighbor directly transmitted power to adjust the position of the vehicle, thus control node broadcasting coverage information.Finally, after a lot of simulation experiments and results analysis, proves the validity of the algorithm, and can effectively reduce the network load, optimizing the end-to-end transmission delay and packet delivery ratio of information such as performance parameters, so as to ensure the effective transmission of information security.
