Packaging drums have excellent characteristics, for instance, good mechanical properties, high strength, low cost, convenience use, good processing performance,strong comprehensive protection performance and so on. It has widely been used in various industrial, transport packaging and has been one means of preserving materials chronically. The automatic process of drums has been implemented in the assembly line. However, the detection technology of drums is not mature. The advanced detection technology of drums ought to be proposed and researched.The paper introduced the mechanism of acoustic emission phenomenon, the detection principle of the drums acoustic emission signals was elaborated, the features of acoustic emission detection technology was briefly analyzed, and the common processing methods of acoustic emission signal was introduced. The contents mentioned above provides theoretical and experimental guide for emission mechanism of drums leakage.The jet flow field distribution of the leakage of gas in drums was simulated by the finite element analysis software FLUENT. The k-ε turbulence model was selected and the drums leakage model was established. The simulation result has been gotten under different internal pressure and leak diameter. The parameters variation, drums leakage velocity, pressure and others, were discussed, the sound pressure level of sound field was obtained at the outlet of jet flow.The structural response of flow-induced vibration was analyzed under fluidstructure interaction of drums leakage by the transient dynamic module of ANSYSWorkbench software. The fluid domain and structure domain model of drums leakage was established, the appropriate grid size and time step was built, the drums structure excitation response under different internal pressure and leak diameter was obtained.Discussed on the distribution of parameters, stress intensity at the leak of drums leakage, such as stress intensity, axial vibration displacement and fluid leakage velocity, and analyzed variation rules between parameters under the action of leak diameter and internal pressure. The leak diameter of drums has little effect on the parameters mentioned above, but the diversification of drums pressure has obvious impact on them. Regardless of the change of internal pressure and leak diameter has less effect on the characteristic frequency and peak frequency.Finally, the characteristic parameter and characteristic frequency rules of acoustic emission signals from leakage of gas in drums was being analyzed by means of experiment. Correlation between characteristic parameter and internal pressure or leak diameter was discussed, and the waveform was analyzed. The characteristic parameter and vibration characteristics frequency which can express drums leakage was gotten.The sound field characteristics of drums gas leakage was analyzed by the methods of fluid-structure interaction simulation and experiment detection. The spectrum and peak frequency of structural response was obtained by simulating and experimenting. The results show that, the spectrum and peak frequency of drums leaking which is by means of simulating and test are basically identical. Simulation and test of acoustic emission signals of drums leaking were studied, which provides a basis for researching online test from leakage of gas in drums.
