In the modern information warfare, conventional warfare platform facing more complex electromagnetic environment, and an increasing number of target threat, its viability and operational capability by serious challenges and tests. To address this situation, the traditional combat platforms need to equip more and more electronic warfare systems to protect and improve safety and raise the operational performance of our own operational platforms. But it will no doubt that bring electromagnetic compatibility, excessive energy consumption, too bulky combat platforms and systems are too expensive and other issues. One way to solve the above problems is to achieve the integration of electronic systems. Among them, the radar systems and IFF systems platform as a combat important part, both to achieve functional integration is great significance.Because of radar and IFF systems have some similarities, thus achieving functional integration of radar systems and IFF systems there have a certain possibility. This paper is based on the current information on all electronic systems integration, functional radar systems and IFF systems integration framework designed broadly studied. And studied the IFF ask waveform as a function of both the common integrated system performance waveform when conventional radar target detection, indicating that both achieve functional integration is feasible. The main work and innovation are as follows:(1) Analysis of the similarities and differences between radar systems and IFF systems, describes the feasibility of radar systems and IFF system features integrated design. And studied the function of integration and achieved constrained problems caused by both the system functions. Finally, give a based IFF systems ask waveform as function integrated systems share waveform system design program.(2) By analyzing the characteristics of the waveform IFF system asks its ambiguity function and speed and distance resolution, analyzes the feasibility of it as a traditional radar waveform. And described the limitations about ask waveform as detected waveform,to provide a basis for the design of the rear signal processing methods.(3) According to the characteristics of the waveform asked to study the inquiry echo signal design matched filtering in the selection process and the echo pulse accumulation under different modes of inquiry.(4) Based on multi-mode interleaving interrogation signal emission characteristics and echo detection method in Single mode, designed echo accumulated detect method in multi-mode. Discussed included multi-mode encryption mode detection how to deal with, as well as the detection method in several conventional mode. Then compared with conventional radar detection methods, demonstrated ask waveform as detected waveform performance and feasibility.
