As the circulating fluidized bed boiler with the characteristic of extensive fuel flexibility, green and pollution-free, its domestic and international market demand has become so large. In recent years, based on the the original 75t/h, 220t/h, 460t/h class CFB boilers, the domestic design and manufacture companys are contending for developping greater capacity of circulating fluidized bed boiler, this trend is in accordance with the national planning to develop green energy.In the context mentioned above, this paper is based on certain boiler works using its own technology to develop 1178t/h CFB boiler. The primary air structure in the original small capacity CFB boilers imported have such the problems as the air distribution device designed unreasonable, fluidization deteriorative, circulating material frequent slag leakage defects, and so on. By summarizing the reasons, this paper will propose a new form of primary air structure and analysis quantitatively using numerical simulation.This paper has described the effect of primary air in CFB boiler and its importance, the structures of air distribution device and primary air entrance, and analysised the reason of air flow distribution generating non-uniform, and summarized the arrangement and selection principles of the primary air structure.
