State estimation of electric power system is applied to estimate the comprehensive running state of the system, based on the telemeter data provided by SCADA. State estimation can examine break state and identify wrong data. It also can calculate unmetered equipment currents and electrical quantities that are hard to measure. It helps to get more accurate running-mode than the one given by SCADA telemeter, which helps dispatching staff to monitor the system and provides comprehensive real-time running-mode for other applications.This paper’s background is‘Intensive and Large-Scale Management’of State Grid. According to the PAS managing and maintaining status in Shanghai Shibei Power Supply Company, the paper sorts out means applied to the different impacts on state estimation.Referring to the errors of state estimation,the paper gives a method of parameter correcting, which takes great effect for distinguishing bad data,adding insufficient one,raising estimation qualification-rate and improving SCADA accuracy and configuration.Through raising the qualification-rate of state estimation, it also enhances the accuracy of other advanced applications. This will be a good help not only for the dispatching staff to analysis and draw solutions to power system problems,but for running trends estimation of the system as well. Moreover,it helps the relevant staff to monitor and maintain the automation system weaknesses. All these ensure the safe and economic management of electric power system,and greatly promote‘Intensive and Large-Scale Management’construction of the company.
