For the rock cutting process of cutter suction dredger, 2D model of rock cutting and theory is studied. With the experiment device of linear pick rock cutting, the cutting experiment is implemented. The relationship between cutting force and cutting parameters is analyzed and studied. With the screening of rock fragment from the experiment, the fragment mass-scale distribution is obtained and the relationship between the distribution of fragment and the distribution of cutting force is studied. According to maximum mass of fragment and peak cutting force, the relationship between them is analyzed.Through the analysis of the motion of cutter in cutter suction dredger, the 3D expression model of single cutter and multiple cutters is set up for the process of rock cutting. Based on the cutting parameters, the synthesis method of cutting force and the solution of effective cutters, the working cutting force and moment is studied by numerical simulation. With the solving program complied using MATLAB, effects of cutter head tilt angle and transverse speed are analyzed. The variation curves of cutting force and moment are obtained and the variation is summarized. The conclusions can provide theoretical foundation and references for research and development of relative dredging equipment.
