With the development of society, the problem of energy and environment is a field we can’t escape, the goal we pursuit is use the sustainable clean energy efficiently. So, the huge reserves of wind energy attracts more and more attention. Thus, the wind turbine that transfer the wind energy into electronical energy has been fully developed. It’s models range from the home use of micro wind turbine to the industrial use of huge wind turbine. Therefore, in order to obtain the best energy conversion efficiency, we should keep the wind turbine in a good aerodynamic characteristics. The aerodynamic characteristics of the wind turbine is caused by the flow field structure on the blade surface. Thus, research on the aerodynamic performance of wind turbine is to analyze the flow field structure, force and other actors. Finally, we select the S809 airfoil and the Phase Ⅵ blade, which is based on S809 airfoil as blade elemnts, to make numerical simulation.Firstly, calculate the airfoil surface flow field with the fluid calculation software Fluent. Respectively, using the single equation model Spalart-Allmaras, standard two-equation model k-ε and three equation model k-kl-ω to calculate the aerodynamic characteristic under the angle of 0-20 ° of the airfoil, and make a comparation between the simulation results and the experimental values.Secondly, stretch the S809 airfoil in the direction of spanwise. Using the fluid calculation softeware NUMECA calculate the three-dimensional flow field characteristics of stationary blades, and make a comparation with the former calculations.Finally, based on the parameters of the Phase Ⅵ wind blade, generate three-dimensional model blade with the software of ProE, generate the mesh with the Autogrid5 embed in NUMECA and calculate the rotating blade with the module of fine. Compare the results with the former values to get the difference. Calculate the wind energy utilization efficiency in different tip speed ratio, and get the relationship between energy conversion efficiency and the blade rotation speed.
