The high performance concrete-filled steel tube(CFST) arch bridge is a kind of arch bridge with superior mechanical performance and adaptability. And its appearance depends on the application of high performance steel(HPS) and high performance concrete(HPC) in CFST arch bridge. The high performance CFST arch bridge is developing in the direction of large span by its own unique advantages. And the development and application of HPS and HPC also establish a solid foundation for its development. The high performance CFST arch bridge with its lightweight structure, its good applicability, its large bearing capacity and its elegant structure has received the favor of domestic and foreign designers. However, research on the mechanical properties of high performance CFST arch bridge is lagging behind and must be improved constantly. Therefore, carrying out extensive study on the mechanical properties and engineering application of high performance CFST arch bridge is particularly important.The main research of this paper is as follows:1. By the extensive research on history and present situation of high performance materials and CFST arch bridge, the paper summarizes the characteristics of the high performance materials and CFST arch bridge and its application in engineering, and at the same time identifies the main research contents of the high performance CFST arch bridge.2. The mechanical behavior of the high performance CFST arch bridge is analyzed theoretically and summarized, and the factors affecting the bearing capacity calculation formula and the mechanical performance in domestic related standards are analyzed.3. By summarizing the domestic and foreign engineering experience and test results, the paper makes analysis of the factors affecting the mechanical performance of high performance CFST arch bridge, and the main factors on the bridge type, the span ratio and section form are in-depth analysed to determine the range of parameters of each influence factor. Combined with engineering examples, the optimization analysis is carried out.4. Using Midas/Civil to build the finite element model, the static and dynamic characteristics of the high performance CFST arch bridge during the construction stage and the finished bridge stage are simulated and analyzed. Through comparing the simulation analysis results and the real bridge monitoring results, the mechanical performance of the high performance CFST arch bridge during the construction stage and the finished bridge stage is analyzed. Through the static load test and dynamic load test, the mechanical performance and working performance of the high performance CFST arch bridge are evaluated and analyzed.
