Because of high water content, high salinity and poor mechanical performance characteristics, the silt cannot be directly applied to filling subgrade. In the process of road construction, the silt area should excavated out and treated with backfill soil, but the excavation of silt has disadvantages of large quantities, the high cost, take up space. Therefore,using curing agent for silt solidification treatment in the practical engineering application,researching the sludge solidification filling technology under the guidance of energy saving,making the silt used as subgrade filling material by solidification treatment in the field, which has a great significance for the development of new road materials, environmental protection and saving construction cost. The silt in binhai area as an example, the characteristics of silt materials, the solidified silt properties and construction technology and quality control of subgrade filled with solidified silts. The main research contents including:(1)The physical and chemical indexes of Binhai silts were determinated, and comparative analyzed with the rest of the country’s silt properties, the influence law of initial water content, organic matter content and mineral composition on the engineering properties of silt, choosing one of the key indicators for silt classification, the evaluation index of solidification effect and selection basis of curing agent were proposed.(2)The influence law of mixing amount on optimum water content, CBR value,compression rebound modulus, unconfined compressive strength, BDR value and water resistance of solidified silt were systematically researched, the regression equation between CBR value, unconfined compressive strength of solidified silt and mixing amount was established, compression rebound modulus test, water resistant test and antifreeze test were contracted, the influence law of mixing amount on mechanical properties, water resistance properties and freezing and thawing performance were definited.(3)The construction preparation, construction technology, construction quality control and settlement of subgrade filled with solidified silt were systematically researched,construction process requirement and quality control method of subgrade filled with solidifiedsilt were proposed.
