Motor as a kind of electrical energy transform to mechanical energy conversion device, the application in the field of industrial control and household appliances is very extensive. The three-phase DC sensor less motor replace the traditional brush DC motor, shows more and more advantages, become a kind of development trend. This paper gets research on the operation principle and control theory of three-phase DC sensor less motor. Established the mathematical model of the key technology, detection of “Back Electro Motive Force” and “Start up of sensor less motor”, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages. Basing on the semiconductor manufacturing process of BICMOS, using the Cadence environment, simulation and design a three-phase DC sensor less motor drive chip AM9800. This chip using "BEMF terminal voltage detection" and "three steps start" technology control of three-phase DC motor only with a few discrete devices. The experimental has verified this system is easy to realize, with low cost, high efficiency and high reliability.
