Low concentration fuel gases, including coal mine ventilation air methane gas,blast furnace gas and so on,are widely found and the amount is very high.In low concentration fuel gases,combustible components concentration is very low.At ambient temperature,low concentration fuel gases are very hard to be used by igniting.Catalytic combustion is an effective way to use low concentration fuel gases.It can decrease the activation energy largely and use most low concentration fuel gases.The research contents of this paper have three aspects.First,build the mathematical model and chemical reaction kinetics model of catalytic combustion.Choose low concentration methane as fuel gas.Analyze the influence of wall temperature,inlet velocity,fuel concentration and convection coefficient on methane catalytic combustion.Choose low concentration synthesis gases as fuel gas.Analyze the influence of hydrogen concentration on methane catalytic combustion.Use Langmuir– Hinshelwood model. Establish the influence of water vapor on catalytic combustion model.Analyze the influence of inlet temperature and water vapor concentration on catalyst activity vacancy and methane conversion.Second,set up catalytic combustion test bench.The main work includes test bench system design and the key experiment parts design,including electrical heater,high temperature oxidation chamber, catalytic combustor and so on.Choose proper measuring equipment, including temperature sensor,pressure sensor and flowmeter.Use recorder system to record data.Choose monolithic honeycomb catalyst loading and ZrO2/γAl2O3/Pd as catalyst.At last,carry out catalytic combustion experiments and high temperature oxidation experiments.The fuel gases include low concentration methane,hydrogen,carbon monoxide and synthesis gases. First,analyze the influence of inlet temperature,fuel concentration,inlet velocity and synthesis gas components on catalytic combustion.Then analyze the influence of reaction temperature,fuel concentration,inlet velocity and synthesis gas components on high temperature oxidation reaction.Then,add water vapor into low concentration synthesis gas. Analyze the influence of water vapor on catalytic combustion.
