This article studies Static Synchronous Compensator(shorted as STATCOM),including single-phase single-strand section of STATCOM secondary voltage ripple,Harmonic suppression controlling method and experiments.In the first step, based on the discussion of improving the power quality by reactive power compensation, this paper discussed the Topological structure of STATCOM. According to the basic circuit theory, the principle of the reactive power compensationwas analyzed, single-phase single-strand section of STATCOM basic control method and structurewas discussed.Aiming at solving the secondary voltage ripple, control strategy of two-trap filter embedded by Voltage outer-loop PI controllerwasdiscussed.The two-trap filter was introduced in details and the performanceof it were also analyzed. Through simulation analysis, the effectiveness of Inhibition of two-impulse by Voltage loop embedded the two-trap filter was confirmed.Aiming at current harmonic problems in device, the method of current harmonic suppression of the Current loop embedded repetitive controller was studied. This article also discussed the basic idea of repetitive control,and analyzes the stability and the error convergence speed of current harmonic suppression of the traditionalrepetitive controller. Because the harmonics generated in STATCOM are mostly the odd harmonics, in order to suppress the current harmonic effectively,this paper studied the odd harmonics repetitive control method.Respectively studied by simulation in the current loop embedded in traditional repetitive controller and odd harmonics embedded controller of control effect.According to the simulation results, the conclusion showed that theCurrent loop embedded odd harmonic repetitive control method was capable inerror fasttracking, odd harmonic suppression circuit efficiently.Finally, single-phase single-strand section of STATCOM wascarried on the experimental study.In the aspect of hardware, the article firstly illustrated a structure diagram of the device,discussedcalculation of main circuit parameters,the control circuit mainly with the control chip of TMS320F28335, as well as the Signalconditioning and protection circuit. In the aspect of software, the software block diagram was given, the program flow chart of the main program,interrupt controland so on were designed, written by C language todebug. As a conclusion,the preliminary experimental resultswereprovided, and the experimental results were analyzed.The correctness of the hardware and software design were verified.
