With the development of domestic mine construction toward large-scale, intensive and modernization, the traditional construction methods are facing new challenges, they are difficult to meet the rapid and safety requirements of large-scale mine construction. Shield has the advantages of high mechanization degree, high construction quality, fast heading,labor saving, safety, etc, make increasing use in mines, become commonly used machining equipment for mine tunnel excavation. At the same time as the urbanization process of China, population is centered to the city ceaselessly, the scale of cities expands unceasingly, so the development of underground space has become an inevitable trend of urban construction. The tunnel project is an important part of the underground project, shield method is widely used in the construction of tunnel project because of its advantages. During the shield construction, formation inevitably to be disturbed and deformed, it will cause a series of engineering problems. Therefore, the study of formation deformation caused by shield tunnel construction has great significance.First, the paper analyzes and summarizes the research results both abroad and at home of formation deformation caused by shield tunnel construction, the main forecasting methods include: experienced formula、model experiment、mechanics analytical method、numerical analysis method and field measurement. Then,theoretical analysis of formation deformation caused by shield tunnel construction,introduct the shield method and the development of shield method in China briefly, detailed the time-space effect theory formation deformation caused by shield tunnel construction, in-depth analysis the cause of formation deformation caused by shield tunnel construction. Combined engineering practice of Hangzhou Metro Line 1 Wenze Road Station ~ Wenhainan Road Station section, select the shield, design the segment structure, calculate the force during shield tunnel construction, build a numerical model by using FLAC3 D to three-dimensional dynamic numerical simulate the process of shield construction,study and analyze the laws of ground deformation caused by shield construction. Make field monitoring scheme, comparison analysis the monitoring result and numerical simulate result. Finally, propose the engineering measures to control stratum deformation, such as avoid shield goes down or control the soil pressure reasonably. The results show that: the use of numerical simulation to predict and analyze the formation deformation of engineering practice is feasible. The research results have certain guidance and reference for the design and construction of shield tunnel.
