During accelerating on the low adhesive roads, the driven-wheels of vehicle are tending to over-spin, which leads to the adhesive force between the tires and road decrease, hence the performance of the acceleration and stability is influenced disadvantageously. Traction control system can make use of the road adhesion effectively and distribution of traction torque reasonably through controlling the slippage state of wheels, and the performances of traction and stability of vehicle are improved.This paper are studied by four wheel driving vehicle, the traction control system is particularly studied in this paper. The mainly research work carried on the following:Firstly, all the major components of the vehicle system were established into mathematical models. These models includes engine model, driveline model, inter-axle torque distribution model, brake model, tire model, vehicle model and other auxiliary calculation module, and all of them were established in Matlab/Simulink, which provided the foundations for building torque distribution control system of off-line simulation platform.The synthesized traction control strategies are identified, which based on the different driving conditions, and engine throttle control system, inter-axle torque distribution control system and driven wheel brake control system are designed by using PID co ntrol method and Fuzzy PID control method. Based on four wheel drive vehicle model and traction control strategies, Off-line simulation for four wheel drive vehicle traction control system i s conducted in Matlab/Simulink.Finally, based on the off-line model, this paper design and realize the real hardware, to build a real-time simulation platform based on d SPACE, and the electronic throttle of hardware in the loop simulation, the test results of hardware in the loop simulation further validated the effectiveness and correctness of traction control strategies.The simulation results indicate: Traction control strategies can prevent excess spin of driven wheel effectively, so as to make use of the road adhesion effectively and improve performances of dynamic and stability of a vehicle. In addition to,the research on hardware in the loop simulation based on d SPACE, which provide a more efficient means for the research and development of traction control system and other control system of VCU.
