The total amount of energy consumed in 2013 was 3.75 billion tons(SCE), in which the proportion of traditional fossil energy sources was 92.3%. The use of fossil fuels has led to a lot of environmental pollution. How to explore more efficient and lower emission combustion technology is one of the most important tasks of today’s scholars.A quasi-two-dimensional slit jet experimental diagnostic systems and a numerical simulation system are constructed used to explore the influence of carbon / oxygen(C/O) spatial concentration distribution on combustion and emission characteristics. Combustion technologies studied include diffusion combustion, premixed combustion, partially premixed combustion and oxygen-diluted partially premixed combustion/oxygen-enriched supplemental combustion(ODPP/OESC). Flame stability and premixed flame propagation speed are comparatively analyzed by recording the flame shape. Flame heat intensity and combustion intensity are comparatively analyzed by recording flame heat intensity and temperature. Combustion efficiency and emission characteristics are comparatively analyzed by recording generation of pollutants. In addition, distribution characteristics of different components and different types of nitrogen oxides are explored in simulation Analysis.Ameliorating the spatial distribution of the C/O in the combustion process may be more effective in achieving high efficient combustion of low NOX technology. Reducing the oxygen concentration of the premixed combustion zone could decrease the premixed flame temperature, thereby inhibiting thermal NOX production. Increasing the oxygen concentration in the diffusion combustion zone could enhance the flame stability and the combustion efficiency. Afterburning combustion by reducing the oxygen concentration gradient, can delay the ignition timing of the diffusion combustion, reduce heat release rate and reduce the central power flame temperature, thus reducing the amount of the thermal NOX generation. Then the proportion of the Prompt NOX can not be negligible.
