At present, many domestic and foreign scholars have made a lot of research on the target location theory based on photo-electric reconnaissance platform. But these research can only stay in the stage of development to improve the positioning accuracy and the stationary target, has been unable to meet the demand of battlefield reconnaissance UAV. Based on the reality that there is no report and study on the method of moving target velocity measurement on the photo-electric platform currently, this paper focuses on how to achieve the target velocity measurement on the photo-electric reconnaissance platform, works in principle and model of velocity measurement, error analysis and simulation and the improving of the velocity measurement accuracy, forming a well system of target velocity measurement. The research of this paper includes the following parts:(1)This paper describes the architectural structure, key technique and working mode of the UAV optical-electric reconnaissance platform. Then, five kinds of coordinate systems which are used in the target velocity measurement process are defined, and the conversions of the coordinates are derived.(2)This paper proposes two kinds of moving target’s velocity measuring methods and models based on the UAV optical-electric reconnaissance platform: 1)target location velocity measurement method based on the target localization; 2) target tracking velocity measurement method based on the target tracking and total differential thought.(3) Aiming at the target velocity error modeling problem, the two methods are analyzed and verified using Monte Carl thought and total differential thought.. Emphatically analyses the effect of aircraft attitude angle and camera direction angle to the target measurement. On this basis, discusses the conditions and selection method of the two kinds of velocity measurement methods.(4)In order to improve the accuracy of target velocity measurement, the thought and method are proposed :1) Improving the target velocity measurement accuracy by reducing the target location error with multi-point ranging technology on target location velocity measurement method, After verification, by means of the method precision is improved about 27.6%. 2) Improving the target velocity measurement accuracy by recursive weighted average filtering technology. After verification, the accuracy increases about 18.4% after filtering.
