Tunnel of freeway as a special structure in the highway, it has different characteristics of the open road, it is prone to traffic incidents, due to the rescue is difficult, once the traffic incident happened, the security and capacity of the entire road will be affected. When tunnel traffic incident happened, the traffic managers can’t clear grasp the trend of its development, so the simulation of the typical cases of abnormal events in the tunnel of freeway can let the traffic manager intuitive understanding development trend under the traffic incident, it can provide support for the traffic manager when happens similar incident in the future.At present, the analysis of the effect of traffic incident is based on the urban road network and highway basic section of the object of study, the analysis of the effect in tunnel is less than other object of study, this paper selects Beibei Tunnel of Wu Yu Road as the research object, using the Trans Modeler to simulate the impact of typical traffic incidents. Aiming at the particularity of the tunnel carries on the analysis to the characteristics of tunnel traffic incident, based on the basic attributes of traffic events to analyze the influence of the tunnel, the establishment of the corresponding model of typical events are used to simulate and analyze the effect. The concrete content includes:① Aiming at the particularity of highway tunnel, the driving environment characteristics of highway tunnel, tunnel traffic characteristics, the characteristics of driver’s physiological and psychological, it porovides support to the input of the model such as road property and driver behavior, analysis of distribution characteristics in time and space of tunnel incident, it provide the basis for the typical event scenario selection.② In view of the influence of the basic attribute of highway tunnel incident on expressway tunnel is analyzed, the analysis of traffic flow parameters(flow, speed, occupancy) change of time and change at the time of the continuous and event properties under different conditions in the space to spread, Using the analysis results, better realize the traffic incident of the tunnel.③ According to special environment of the tunnel design the scheme, first, established by Trans Modeler simulation program, gives the method of the simulation parameters pretreatment and design the input model and output model according to the change characters of the traffic flow parameters. Second, set up different typical event scenario according to time and space distribution characteristics of traffic incident for tunnel, and simulation analysis of the different scenarios, and according to some evaluation index, for example the absolute.value of relative error, analysis and comparison of the model results.The application results show that: The simulation method is established in this paper can simulate the typical scenarios. the simulation results accord with the real road traffic incident’s evolution regularity, it can not only simulate the traffic flow changes with time, and can simulate the queue length changes in road space, confirm the validity of the simulation method.
