| As an important transportation means featured with lightweight and flexibility, motorcycle has been a great convenience to civil life while posing some adverse impacts in motion. Among the rest,the occurrence of Structural Resonance can deteriorate the Riding Comfort of the riders and shorten the Fatigue Life of the motorcycle. Thus to optimize the Oscillatory Characteristics of motorcycle is a tough problem shared by relevant engineers and researchers, and this is the very essential objective of this thesis.This thesis is mainly conducted by a research method combination of fundamental theoretical guidance and modern simulation optimization. After the study of relevant researches, both the measurement method for Vibration Comfort of motorcycles and mopeds, the essential theories of Mechanical Vibration and Finite Element Method are described in this thesis.Furthermore a list of simulation sessions are elaborated for our vibration optimization, in which some engineering softwares have played an important role, like CATIAã€Matlabã€Hypermeshã€Simlabã€Abaqus,ect.Particularly, for the vibration problem of severe hand tingling on drivers of a motorcycle in high speed driving,three solutions are selectively proposed in the thesis in terms of Structure Modifying and Rubber Passive Vibration Isolation,aimed at the handlebar of the motorcycle,in addition,extra structural optimization of the frame is achieved.The simulation results from Abaqus demonstrate that these optimization measures have significantly improved the two types of Vibration Comfort problemsnamely the Hand-transmitted Vibration from the handlebar and the Whole-body Vibration from the frame for the motorcycle under its high frequency engine excitations. |
