As the high-speed economic development in contemporary China, more and more large and complex bridges have been built. The health monitoring of these structures has received a great attention. The structure damage identification is the most important part of the health monitoring system.The traditional method of structure damage identification is based on modal parameters. But there are many limitations in these methods. The damage identification method in this paper is based on the moving load. In order to analyze the dynamic response of bridge structure under subjected to a moving load, this paper adopts two time-frequency domain analysis methods, i.e., wavelet transform and the Hilbert-Huang transform. By using these methods, the damage characteristic of signal is extracted, and then the existence and location of the damage is identified.This paper focus on the experimental study of the Haizhu bridge model, and discuss the practical application value of the wavelet transform and the Hilbert-Huang transform. The main research content of this paper is as follows:(1) The research background and the significance of structural damage detection are introduced, the current structure of the structural damage detection method of the research status and development trend is summarized, and then this paper puts forward the defects of the traditional method and the challenge. The introduction of this paper chooses the time-frequency domain analysis method, and the research status of the method is summarized.(2)The second part of this paper is to introduce the theoretical basis of the wavelet transform and the Hilbert-Huang transform, discuss their application in structural damage identification, summarize the advantages and disadvantages of these two methods to provide reference for the experimental study.(3) The last part is to test the dynamic response of the Haizhu bridge model under the action of the moving load, use the wavelet transform and the Hilbert-Huang transform method to get the signal analyzed, and then identify the damage on the bridge model. Compare the identification results under different experimental parameters(including moving load size, speed, damage degree, sensor location) and summarize the corresponding laws.
