In order to improve the folding efficiency of the large satellite antenna, this paper presents a folding-and-unfolding scheme of multi-stage deployable arms, establishes a design method of the multi-stage deployable arms system and its limbs, and uses mechanical system dynamics analysis software ADAMS to complete the simulation of the unfolding process. The main work in this paper is as follows.This paper introduces the Solid Works software for design and ADAMS software for simulation, and the theory of multi-body dynamics to prepare for this paper.Designed for the large satellite antenna, there are two folded configuration schemes of multi-stage deployable arms. One is that limbs of multi-stage deployable arms are folded in one side close to the large satellite antenna reflector in the folded state, and the other is that limbs of multi-stage deployable arms are folded around the large satellite antenna reflector in the folded state. The design of the dimension and the connection of multi-stage deployable arms is accomplished. The virtual prototype of the large satellite antenna multi-stage deployable arms system is established by Solid Works. This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of two folded configuration schemes of multi-stage deployable arms, and gives the design flow of multi-stage deployable arms’ parametric design.The dynamics simulation models of multi-stage deployable arms folded in one side close to the large satellite antenna reflector are built by ADAMS. According to the deployment sequence of limbs of multi-stage deployable arms, motion simulation drive function is deduced, and then the simulation of the unfolding process of multi-stage deployable arms is completed. This paper gives the simulation results such as the impact force at each hinge, the driving torque of the motor and so on during different unfolding processes of multi-stage deployable arms. And this paper analyzes the impact force at the hinge between multi-stage deployable arms and satellite during the unfolding process of multi-stage deployable arms, gives the change of satellite attitude during the unfolding process of multi-stage deployable arms.In this paper, the simulation and analysis of the multi-stage deployable arms folded around the large satellite antenna reflector is accomplished. This paper presents a method to simplify the process of model import and analyzes the impact force at the hinge between multi-stage deployable arms and satellite, and the change of X, Y, Z direction and acceleration of satellite centroid in the deployment of satellite during the unfolding process of multi-stage deployable arms.This paper presents a design method of multi-stage deployable arms, and gives a design scheme of the multi-stage deployable arms folded around the large satellite antenna reflector which effectively reduces the folded volume. To verify the feasibility of the folded configuration scheme, the virtual assembly is accomplished by Solid Works, and the simulation of the process is accomplished by ADAMS. The establishment of the folding unfolding process simulation method, to complete the analysis of impact and influence of satellite attitude and orbit during the unfolding process of multi-stage deployable arms, provides the basis for highly efficient folding large satellite antenna unfolding and folding design...
