With the rapid development of economy, the constant growth of urban population, the tense city land, underground space development become deeper and larger. During the development and utilization of underground space, it certainly will cause the change of underground environment. Most of the current research focus the impact on the groundwater environment during the construction period only. Few studies the impact during the operation. There are many important characteristics about urban underground space development, such as large amount of structures and gaps between them and so on. Groundwater environment is a very important factor in underground environment. It is necessary to study the impact of underground space development on groundwater environment in Urban Area.In order to make a assessment of underground space development in Guangzhou groundwater environment, this paper have the research content as follows:1) Using the two-dimensional seepage finite element program to compare the calculated results before and after simplified in a whole city of Guangzhou. Proving the Simplified method in practical engineering application.2) Simulating the initial flow regime of Guangzhou city. Analyzing the soil distribution of Guangzhou city and then make a Geology Division of Guangzhou base on summaring the geological features of different regions. Using multi-layer permeable strata seepage analysis program which compiled by professor Cao Hong to simulate the initial flow regime. Making sensitivity analysis for the Pearl River water level and evaluating the influencing factor on the results of the perturbation amplitude.3) Impact Evaluation of underground space development on Groundwater environment in urban area. Citing Tianhe District as an example and Impact Evaluation of underground space development on Groundwater environment in urban area.
