The frame joints play a role of transmission and distribution of internal fore in the frame structures, so it is one of the most important components in the frame structure. Once the frame joints are destroyed, the integrity of the building will be lost, and then the whole building will be collapsed. This has been confirmed by the previous earthquake. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of the building, it is necessary to strengthening of the defective frame joints, especially for the frame joints with little or no stirrups.Previous study of the reinforcement field focused on the reinforcement of beams and columns. The studies on the reinforcement of beam-column joints are relatively few. Although the studies on the reinforcement of beam-column joints began to increase, but it mainly depends on the test. As is known to all, the test needs to consume a large amount of time, manpower and material resources. In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology and finite element theory, Using the finite element calculation software to study the reinforcement of the concrete structures overcomes the shortcomings of the tests. And it can be used to observe lots of the responses of the structures when they are reinforced. So it has become more and more popular with the engineers and researchers. In this paper, based on the previous tests, using abaqus to establish the model of beam-column joints reinforced by CFRP and small steel frames. The force mechanism of the model is analyzed in detail. And comparison with the test results to prove the model. Using abaqus to establish the model of beam-column joints with no reinforcement and beam-column joints reinforced by small steel frames. Analysing their failure modes, load-displacement curves, reinforcement stresses and the damage of concrete to illustrate the influence on the behavior of joints and the effect of the reinforcing material in the beam-column joints reinforced by CFRP and small steel frames. Changing the key factor of beam-column joints reinforced by CFRP and small steel frames to observe its influence on the behavior of beam-column joints, for example the vertical adhesive layers of FRP sheets, the size of small steel frames and the material of small steel frames. So we can get some useful conclusions to make good use of the beam-column joints reinforced by CFRP and small steel frames.
