Ultrasonic phased array technology is an important method of non-destructive testing, and ensuring the data signal detector for high-precision real-time processing can improve the stability of the whole system.This paper,which is titled "CORDIC algorithm in ultrasonic phased array detector applications", analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of various types of calculation methods for complex functions of ultrasound phased array instrument,as well as analysis of these basic principles.It describes the status quo and development trend in the related field of the CORDIC algorithm,and shows the value of CORDIC algorithm in ultrasonic phased array inspection instrument. This paper focuses on CORDIC algorithm in ultrasonic phased array detector applications,and main work of the thesis includes the following parts:(1) The shortcomings of traditional CORDIC algorithm were elaborated.The theory of high radix CORDIC algorithm, the angle recoding CORDIC algorithm, hybrid CORDIC algorithm and redundant CORDIC algorithm are described,and their application characteristics are analyzed and explored comparing with the traditional CORDIC algorithm various advantages and applications of improved algorithms.(2) Set forth the basic principles of DDS technology, analysis of ultrasonic phased array DDS digital synthesizer module and signal processing features, and applies the high radix CORDIC algorithm DDS digital synthesizer module, algorithmic modeling and performance simulation. Experimental results show that the application of high radix CORDIC algorithm cosine trigonometric functions can be achieved absolute error of less than 9.0 × 10-5.(3) Describes the basic principles of TGC technology, analysis and signal processing characteristics of ultrasonic phased array modules TGC and TGC for high radix CORDIC algorithm module, the algorithm modeling and performance simulation. Experimental results show that the application of high radix CORDIC algorithm for computing the number of functions can be achieved absolute error of less than 7.0 × 10-5.(4) Describes the basic principles of the quadrature demodulation technology, analysis of ultrasonic phased array echo quadrature demodulator modules and signal processing features, and the hybrid CORDIC algorithm is applied to the ultrasonic echo quadrature demodulator module, the algorithm modeling and performance simulation. Experimental results show that application of the hybrid CORDIC algorithm computing the square root function can be achieved below the absolute error of 2.0 × 10-4.Simulation results show that, CORDIC algorithm in ultrasonic phased array detector is effectively ensure data accuracy while dramatically reducing hardware complexity of algorithm,verifying the validity of CORDIC algorithm in ultrasonic phased array and detector applications feasibility.
