During production processes, large factories often give out amounts of liquid pollution particles, especially the process of smelting, sintering, forging, casting, water cooling and other heat treatments, which will produce a lot of steam transforming into droplets after liquefaction, and droplets evaporate in turn when moving in the surrounding environment. If effective ways to control the droplet are not taken, droplets and the associated steam will exist in the plant for a long period of time, which do tremendous harm to workers, equipment and plant envelopes. In this paper, droplet evaporation characteristics are proposed to study the principles of droplets transporting and diffusing in the flow field.The process of transport and dispersion of droplets in the air is a combination of aerodynamics, heat transfer and mass transfer. This paper develops models of evaporation and movement of droplets by simplifying the physical model. Simulation of a single droplet freely falling is operated and the results are compared with experimental and numerical data obtained respectively by Hamey and X Xie, to verify the droplet evaporation model established in the paper.Droplet swarms in steady jet field are traced based on Euler-Lagrange(DPM) method to investigate the transport and diffusion law. The results shows that droplets will follow airflow and move upward after released into the flowfiled, with their movement laws in agreement; after moving some distance, droplets in the central region of the jet field continue to move upward following the airflow, while droplets in both edges of the flowfield start to disperse to the surroundings due to the force of vortex and entrainment. In the flowfiled, droplets with larger diameter exist longer than those with small size.Droplet evaporation are closely related to the surrounding environment, and the paper analyzes the impact of relative humidity on the droplets evaporation rate. Research shows that: the higher the relative humidity and the greater the partial pressure of water vapor in the atmosphere, the smaller the droplet evaporation rate and the longer droplets exist in the environment, and the opposite is also true.
