Research On Lightweight Of Coach Body Structure

The design of current domestic pure electric bus body frame structure is mainly replacing the traditional fuel oil or gas bus powertrain, it has to increase the body structure’s strength by adding many components due to the weight of the battery is higher than the powertrain of transmission, it not only affects the performance of bus,but also increases the bus kerb mass by about 30 percent, led to a short trip range of pure electric bus. It is restricted by the high cost of the battery and the continued problems of short driving range, so it has not been widely recognized by the market.However, the only existing methods are to install large capacity battery and reduce vehicle weight, in order to improve energy efficiency.This paper takes a pure electric load bus body model 6126GBEV2 of 12 meters of one co., LTD.as the research object, describes the back ground and significance of the project, discusses the research status of lightweight for coach body and propose the implementation method of the project.According to the analysis results and the safety of body structure, propose lightweight optimization solution by designing frame structure and rods’ size and thickness The optimized bus is verified to satisfy the requirement of reliability test and driving safety.Eventually, the weight of new body structure is reduced by 10.34%, and the free vibration frequency is better, although the bending and torsion stiffness decrease a little, they are still in a reasonable range. So the new structure not only maintains the same level in the basic performance but also obtains good effect of lightweight,and the travel distance is improved effectively with high security and reliability.
