Seepage and mechanical characteristics of the slope is an important subject in geotechnical engineering research. Landslide, which is caused by slope instability, is one of the most destructive geological disasters and it usually results in irretrievable losses for people’s life and property. Due to complicated factors that influence slope, plenty aspects need to be considered in the research of mechanical characteristics of the slope, among which water seepage is an influential factor and it is also a difficult topic in slope research. In recent years, with rapid development of finite element theory and computer technology, increasing research studies focus on the influence of seepage on slope. As important parts of stability analysis, seepage field and stress field of slope are mutually influenced, interrelated and interacted. Therefore, it is essential to conduct research on them so as to provide scientific basis for slope engineering.Firstly, the thesis summarized the research status on slope seepage and stability both at home and abroad. Then, according to the actual situation in the eastern slope of Yan Mountain iron ore, the study drew and established an iron ore formation geomorphological map in eastern Yan Mountain via Auto-CAD and PATRAN. Besides, the map was divided into finite element computing grid.Secondly, according to local water conservancy hydrology data and pertinent saturated seepage theory, the research conducted a seepage calculation simulation under different anti-seepage working conditions in eastern slope of Yan Mountain. Through sensitivity analysis of the impervious curtain and diaphragm wall parameter, the research obtains anti-seepage measures that ensure the quality of engineering and also economic anti-seepage parameter, which provides reference for the anti-seepage design of the mining enterprise.Finally, on the basis of the seepage calculation, the study conducted a simulation analysis on mechanical characteristics of the stress and deformation of the slope. According to the mechanical characteristics, the thesis analyzed the slope comprehensively and put forward concrete suggestions for slope governance.
